Ostria Inn Hotel in Naxos approached us to create a brand that would render its restaurant independent and convey their creative approach to Greek cuisine, hospitality, and the promotion of local products.
For the restaurant, which operates independently of the Ostria Inn hotel and transforms into a new version of itself, we conceived a closing circle and the emergence of a new one: ἅlos. Known as the circle of light around the moon or the sun. The name signifies a circle representing the continuous movement and development of the earth and mankind, the circle of a group of people, or a plate of quality food that offers enjoyment. We maintained the accents, emphasizing the Greek and local food focus, and highlighting the longstanding family tradition associated with the restaurant.
Logotype and visual identity
To portray the restaurant’s identity visually, we stuck to the concept of a circle. Our logotype, featuring curves and different grades, was designed to express both the stability of a family business rooted in tradition and an elegant outlook towards the future. Ἅlos restaurant stands as a seaside destination, inviting visitors to unwind and savor their meals. To capture this essence, we carefully positioned each letter, employing earthy tones that nod to the historical significance of the location. The logo is complemented by extending lines resembling a light circle, symbolizing the growth of ἅlos and welcoming guests into its circle.
