SENSATES
The Story
Xenia Doni Fynbo approached us wanting to create a brand and website for her services: a team of mental health professionals providing sexual counseling and therapy to people who have any concerns about their sex lives. We managed to capture the seriousness and care with which Xenia and her team approach sexual health.
Services
Naming
For the name, we were guided by the pillars we’d already set: on one hand, scientific validity, and on the other, understanding. We chose the name “Sensates,” a variation of the English word “sensate,” meaning “sensitive,” to put humans and sensation in the spotlight. A simple name that refers to the way our sexuality is experienced and developed, our sensations.
Logotype and Corporate Identity
In designing the logo and corporate identity, we maintained the same directions. We used typography without elaborate details, reflecting professionalism, simplicity, and the consistency with which Xenia manages her patients. We designed a logo inspired by the symbol of infinity, with edges converging into two parallel lines. This represents how counseling and therapy contribute to liberation from constraints and solving problems that burden sexual health. To convey the directness required for such sensitive issues as therapy and to create a welcoming atmosphere, we chose to design a series of illustrations. Linear representations of bodies and individuals coexisting, speaking, and addressing their problems, with colorful shapes depicting their contact, desire for progress, and the new perspectives emerging before them.
Website Design
We proceeded with the design of the Sensates website based on the brand’s framework. We created a site where the user can find specialized information about the service that concerns them, with directness and simplicity. To achieve this, we utilized typography, illustrations, the style, and the content of the website, conveying the combination of technical knowledge and experience with humanity and care.
